88 homes. One building. A practical route to better oversight.
The next steps are simple

Ready to take part? Choose your route.

We are moving swiftly. If you want to become a director, put yourself forward to the leaseholder group and prepare the information needed to register the RTM company. If you support RTM but do not want to be a director, hold steady and look out for the formal letter or email.

01 / BECOME A DIRECTOR

What a prospective director needs.

To put yourself forward as a leaseholder director, email hello@richmondgatertm.co.uk. Say that you are a Richmond Gate leaseholder and want to be considered as a director. Company registration requires these details:

  • First name
  • Middle name
  • Surname
  • Date of birth
  • Your address at Richmond Gate
  • Nationality
  • Your Companies House personal code
A Companies House personal code is needed for director registration. Complete Companies House identity verification and include your personal code with the details above. Use the official GOV.UK identity-verification service. If you have not verified your identity yet, say so in your email and complete that step promptly.

Do not put your date of birth, address or personal code in a public post or website form. Email the information to the project address above. It will be used to organise the leaseholder-led company formation and director appointment, and shared with the company solicitor or Companies House where needed. Sending these details expresses your willingness; the formal director appointment is completed through the company and Companies House process.

02 / SUPPORT RTM

Support is welcome. Hold steady.

If you support Right to Manage but do not want to be a director, you do not need to send us anything now.

Look out for a letter in the post or an email explaining the next formal step and inviting leaseholders to participate. The notice will set out how to join the RTM company and how to respond. If a vote or response is requested, follow the instructions in that communication.

For now, please hold steady. The company formation and solicitor work are moving swiftly.

What happens after directors come forward?

From company formation to the leaseholder notice.

  1. Leaseholders put themselves forward

At least one qualifying leaseholder is needed to begin forming the company. Prospective directors provide the personal details and Companies House personal code needed for company registration.

  2. The RTM company is registered

The company is formed as a limited-by-guarantee RTM company using the standard model articles. Directors complete Companies House verification and appointment requirements.

  3. Every qualifying leaseholder is contacted

Once the company is formed, the solicitor issues the formal notice inviting leaseholders to participate. The project will also send clear information by post and/or email so residents know what to do.

  4. Members join and the required number is reached

Richmond Gate’s project threshold is 50% plus one: 45 of 88 flats. The solicitor will confirm the qualifying flats and legal requirements before the claim proceeds.

  5. The RTM company serves the claim

After the invitation notice period and all statutory checks, the company serves the Notice of Claim and prepares for the landlord response period and management handover.

Not ready to be a director? That is fine. Wait for the formal letter or email and respond when it arrives. Membership support matters just as much to reaching the threshold.
